Yesterday we went to my parents house for Easter. It was yet another reminder that we are all grown up for a couple reasons.

First…the fact that we were GOING to my parents, and I don’t live there, and as of recently my brother and the boys don’t live there either!

Secondly….we sat around and watched the boys look for the Easter eggs. It brought back a lot of memories of walking around our backyard as a kid looking for (real) eggs with Tupperware to carry them in, and then coming inside and finding all the candy! We lucked out and had fantastic weather so got to spend the whole afternoon outside enjoying all the blessings God has given us!

Going to Mexico.

Mexico is one of those words, that every time I hear someone say it, I tune in. As those of you who know me may know, I spent 5 years of my life volunteering with the poorest of the poor in small town Mexico. It not only is a place that I volunteered, but it was a place where I learned who I was, where I grew up, where I established my roots and when things get tough, its the place I have escaped to over the years to hear God. The place God has used time and time again to give me direction and clarity in my actions, my future and has restored my strength and passion.

The past 12 months has been an amazing year in a lot of ways, it has also been the most financially challenging year of my life, has brought on new stresses, new jobs, moving and the loneliness that comes from living in town that no one wants to drive out to see you and you know no one. Multiple jobs and getting used to living with someone who is amazing, but not so organized.

So when I opened up my email this morning and saw a seat sale for even cheaper then driving there would be, I got excited, called the hubby and booked flights! We are going to Mexico! I am so excited and so relieved that there’s something in the immediate future to look forward to!
