12 Weeks

12 Weeks!

Symptoms: This week my energy came back! But as luck would have it…I had a terrible cold! But with nausea starting to go away and energy coming back, and now that my cold has reduced itself to a cough, this momma is starting to feel a lot more human these days!

Nursery Update: Daddy has the nursery cleared out and we went and got paint chips to pick a color….looks like the nursery is going to be GREEN

Notable Moments: Went out with my mom to look for some maternity dresses this week…got some cute stuff at Thyme Maternity. Also got an infant carseat from my brother and some Canuck’s  onesies! There’s stuff in the baby room!

All About Baby:

  • Most of her critical systems are fully formed!
  • She’s about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which her organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.
  • She’s now developing her reflexes — if you poke her body, she’ll likely move.
  • She’s opening and closing her fingers and curling her toes, too.
  • Her brain is developing fast!

Will it ever stop?

After puking 3 times in the last 4 hours and dry heaving countless more times, and not keeping anything down…I called into work. Again. UGH. I need the hours, I need the money but I am just useless between puking and exhaustion (maybe because I cant get any energy from food…or maybe because I couldn’t sleep all night because I had to pee too often) and its unfair to my co-workers, its unfair to my clients and its unfair to me to be completely useless puking my whole shift. Not going to lie…so far, pregnancy sucks.

10 Weeks

10 Weeks

Last week we had our dating Ultrasound. Baby measured exactly 9 weeks with a heartbeat of 172.

At 10 weeks:

  • Baby has working arm joints, and her cartilage and bones are forming.
  • Her vital organs are fully developed and they’re starting to function.
  • Her fingernails and hair are starting to appear, too.
  • Plus, (s)he’s swallowing and kicking in there. (Can you believe it?!)

This week I still feel really nauseous and get sick most mornings. I have needed naps most days and am too tired to get much done. Unfortunately I was put on antibiotics this week that is likely to make the next week just as bad or worse! AHH! Hoping after I finish the antibiotics things start to get better!

And then there were three!

Yep….I said it. We are pregnant!

10 weeks and some odd days…..we saw that first amazing little heartbeat last week, and baby is measuring right as he (she?) should!
