38 Weeks

week-38I’m not a huge fan of the bare belly photos, but nearing the end I feel like there needs to be some evidence as to how big this belly (and baby) is getting! WOW! I can’t lean over or sit up straight anymore, can’t sleep without it getting in the way or squished or feeling heavy. Dr. says she is looking good for a healthy entrance, Is head down, facing the right way, I am 1cm dilated and ready to go….but that she still seems quite comfy so to not expect anything to happen this week. Hard to believe she could be here by the end of the week, or could wait until Easter!

This week was my first week off work! It was nice to have a few sunny days to get out and walk around a bit. Have started trying to get more walks in, drinking Raspberry leaf tea (supposedly tones your uterus) and eating Mexican (spicy) foods! But so far it has only helped to give me heartburn!

All About Baby

  • She’s practicing some skills: inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking.
  • She’s getting his first sticky poop (called meconium) ready for his first diaper.
  • She may have about an inch or so of hair already.
  • She’s slowly shedding that white goo on her skin (called vernix caseosa) but you might see some of it at birth.
